A Rebel Prayer

A Rebel Prayer is a musical with book & lyrics by Eloise Govedare.

Is freedom worth fighting for, no matter the cost? After her father is brutally murdered for putting on an anti-Putin play, 16-year-old Nikita is sent away to a Russian orphanage run by militant and Putin-worshiping headmistress Ekaterina Mukhina. Imprisoned by grief and Mukhina’s tyrannical rule, Nikita is visited by ghosts of protest punk collective Pussy Riot. When they offer her one of their masks, Nikita must decide whether to join them and risk everything in order to lead a rebellion against Mukhina and everything she stands for.

A Rebel Prayer has additionally been developed at Goodspeed Musicals and The Barnett Residency.
